Crafting a Masterpiece: The Meadow of Avens Blanket
Imagine a soft, cuddly blanket adorned with a bold floral centerpiece. That’s exactly what Vicki brought to life with her Daisy Delight Blanket. She crocheted the dimensional Meadow of Avens Square (in classic daisy colors in honor of the intended snuggler) for this stunning focal point. Then Vicki crocheted the surrounding blanket using the interlocking rows in the round stitch, which allows the variegated green colors of the Uptown DK to undulate beautifully without too much “puddling” of the colors.
Truly, Vicki’s masterful vision perfectly combines the Interlocking Crochet Stitches seamlessly building the body of the blanket around the Meadow of Avens square.
What Sparked the Creativity?
Inspiration struck when a friend announced they were expecting a baby girl to be named Daisy. Vicki’s mind immediately knew she wanted a blanket with a daisy flower center to celebrate the aptly named new arrival. After some research of floral motif patterns, the Meadow of Avens square pattern emerged as the ideal starting point.
