I have never seen this as a sock technique before, so if you have, please let me know where. If not, please share my post with others so that I am credited with it! It is so frustrating to teach things that I feel like I pioneered, then suddenly see them show up on the cover of the latest magazine or popular website, with zero connection to my work.
This was an interesting experiment in techniques and I’m pretty excited about how it turned out. I’ve worn the socks once now in my hiking boots and they were comfortable. There are some things I would do different if I did it again, and I’ll cover that in another post.
If you are interested in a deeper look at this technique and the entire experiment, reach out and let me know what more you’d like to see.
BTW … I also teach you how to knit this thicker fabric in the round as you knit the sole of your sock, in this tutorial
