Celebrating JOMO in a loud digital FOMO world
The digital world is spinning incredibly fast and loud right now, and it’s easy to feel like you’re stuck on a never-ending treadmill. Everywhere you look, there’s a new platform to join, a viral trend to chase, or a firehose of quick-fix video hacks. It turns our relaxing hobbies into a source of digital noise and FOMO, and frankly, life’s just too short for that.
I’ve made a calculated choice to step off that treadmill and protect my energy; I’m focusing on what really matters. Right now, you’ll find me sharing on Facebook and Instagram when I have something meaningful to show you, and I’m definitely hanging out on YouTube answering comments. But if you want the real JOMO, deep connection, that happens in my weekly emails and inside our Skool community.
I reserve the right to change my mind down the road, but right now, these are the spaces where the pressure to perform is completely turned off. I want our stitching space to feel like a comfortable living room where we can talk about what’s real. We celebrate the big victories, we troubleshoot the missed stitches, and we support each other through the normal messiness of life.
One of our community members recently shared that this quiet focus completely changed her practice. She said she finally found a place where it’s okay to be herself, and where she can level up her skills without getting frustrated, overwhelmed, or quitting. That’s the exact kind of intrinsic difference I’m aiming for.
Stitching is an ancient, deeply analog life skill that connects us to a 10,000-year-old lineage of makers. The wonderful part about modern tools like YouTube is that my grandkids will actually inherit my channel one day, meaning I get to live in posterity for them right there. But mastering these legacy skills still takes time, patience, and real human connection.
If you’re tired of the constant chatter and want a peaceful sanctuary to master your yarn, perfect your stitches, and create a true legacy, I’d love to invite you in. You can head over to the shop, grab a free pattern or one of my printable resources, and you’ll instantly join my email family. From there, the doors to our Skool community are wide open for you.
Happy Stitching! Love, SuziQ
